My adventure of doing a spot of wedding photography at the Maynard wedding venue in Grindleford. This is the first time I got the chance to visit this lovely little boutique hotel and wedding venue, and I loved it here. This eclectic hotel sits perfectly within the peaceful and relaxing Derbyshire countryside. Rosie & Adam smashed it and celebrated in style on their wedding day.
I started my day off by meeting up with Adam and his guest down at the bar of the hotel. Nerves of steel as he sat relaxing drinking a beverage without a worry of saying ‘I do’. A little while passed before I joined the many girls upstairs, Rosie decided to have all of her friends as bridesmaids. I like this, it makes for a more fulfilled morning with lots going on. I do prefer the bride and groom prep to be all in one place so I am able to capture the full story of the day without travelling to different locations. The Maynard offers plenty of room for both sides to get ready and the dynamics of the building ensure both parties can be kept separate from each other.
This hotel provides lots of unique opportunities for taking unique documentary shots, which is very advantageous to my style of photography and perfect for telling the story of the day.
Rosie & Adam decided on a spring to summer style theme for their wedding at the Maynard hotel. Rosie wore a very flower-detailed wedding dress which complimented the wedding breakfast seating plan and table centres. The tables were dressed with small posies of wild spring flowers along with a flower illustration placard. This theme fitted very well into the newly refurbished function room of the Maynard. Very fresh and clean.
