A CHESHIRE WEDDING

Are you ready for some Styal Lodge Wedding Photography? I really needed this wedding after being creatively starved from ‘proper’ weddings with the pandemic restrictions over the last few years. I’m really glad to be back smashing weddings again. This was the first wedding to kick off 2022 for me. It was February and the weather was top-notch, wet with some subtle sun breaks. It was a bit of a record breaker for me as in my 10+ years of shooting weddings, I’ve never shot one in February, in 2022 I had three, all around our due date for our baby girl. So I had my mate Emilie along to help me out in case I had to make an emergency exit.

A BARN-STYLE VENUE

Styal Lodge is a modern approach to a barn-style wedding venue. A very clean and elegant building which is perfectly situated in the Cheshire countryside. Styal Lodge is very accommodating and as a large empty canvas, you can invite all the guests you need and dress it exactly the way you want it. As this was my first time visiting this venue, I always tend to do a little research to see what I have to work with at each venue and to make sure I do it differently than other photographers who have been there before. When I researched Styal Lodge, I noticed they had large curtains that they use to separate the room for the ceremony and the wedding breakfast tables. I knew I had to use these as a background for some fun and quirky photos with the bride and groom.

Styal Lodge also has access to the lake for portraits which is just on the golf course, and you get to ride the golf buggy to get there! Yahoo! It’s very scenic and offers something else compared to other golf-orientated wedding venues, in which you typically aren’t allowed anywhere near the course.

AN ALTERNATIVE WEDDING DAY

Vicky & Danny are a very alternative couple, complete with tattoos and a great taste in music, rock yeah! I love the fact they included neon signs in their weddings. It was not a traditional wedding by all means…I mean the Bridesmaids wore black dresses which got my tick of approval. A bright pink skull cake got my attention as well! But most of all, my favourite part of the day was the 5K Punk Rock band in the evening, playing all of my favourite songs that I literally have on repeat on Spotify. If you love pop-rock and are getting married, you need to book these guys, they are wicked! It goes without saying that I managed to capture some top dancing photos of people just purely rocking out. It made some amazing Styal Lodge wedding photography!

About the venue and why you should book it

Style Lodge is an exclusive and contemporary wedding venue in which you will not regret hosting your wedding venue in. A family-run, unique and romantic open canvas with plenty of natural light flowing through to enjoy your dream day. The venue is licenced to hold ceremonies for up to 150 people, which I think pretty much covers all of your family and friends.

Not only does it look stunningly beautiful to look at, tucked away in the grounds of Styal Golf Club, the surroundings in which you can have your pictures in are really nice. Complete with a garden and access to a golf buggy that takes you to a nearby lake on the golf course, you are stuck for choice. The wedding team are incredibly attentive and looks after you on your wedding day, making sure all your needs are met.
