A WEDDING IN A BARN

Sally & Jason celebrated their wedding day at The River Barn in Poulton-le-Fylde and here is their wedding photography. The River Barn is a stunning rustic wedding venue with exposed wooden beams and rustic vibes. The river barn is the perfect place to say I do. Set beside the river Wyre, The barn has access to immense scenery, not to mention its private gardens, extensive treelined driveway, and firepit social area. There are so many areas to make use of for wedding photography.

SALLY & JASON’S WEDDING DAY

My day started off with the girls at Ribby Hall Village capturing all the usual makeup and hair stuff whilst the boys got ready at The River Barn in The Tudor Manor House, which was built in 1536. The girls eventually moved over to the venue once the bridal preparations room was ready for them to put on their dresses and last bits of touching up.

I really enjoy it when a wedding is all in one place, and because the barn is fully licensed to host a ceremony and on-site wedding prep areas it makes it so easy and much easier for me to capture all the aspects of the wedding day on my own. I was also able to capture wedding guests’ arrival whilst also capturing wedding prep, which is not always possible at some venues.

Sally & Jason’s day was jam-packed with awesome characters made up of family and friends, I love chatting and having bants at a wedding and there were lots of them at this wedding. One of my main strengths is getting along with people and gaining trust at a wedding enables me to get familiar with everyone and get some amazing documentary wedding photos.

A WEDDING DAY FULL OF OPPORTUNITY

The thing that defines a wedding day for me is the level of movement and interactivity of people at the wedding. I love to see people hugging, laughing, and doing daft shit, it makes really makes a wedding day as it creates a plentiful opportunity for capturing really cool documentary wedding images. My approach is fast-paced and I constantly hunt down the next scene or subject. Jason and Sally’s wedding had just that! It was a hot summers day so people were constantly on the move in around the venue. They had garden games, music, and a magician to keep the level of entertainment was right up there. I love it when the couple books a magician, the reactions from guests you can get from them are amazing.

The Photos that Matt produced for us were absolutely FANTASTIC, second to NONE. It was a pleasure to have Matt do the photography for our wedding. What made Matt so perfect was that it wasn’t like we had a photographer at the wedding, it was like we had a mate enjoying our day with us. His interaction with us and our guests is something rare and very special. ALL our guest commented on how at ease they felt around him and how much fun he was.

We picked Matt because we didn’t want a photographer that was to structured and staged. After meeting him for the first time and looking through his body of work we had no other option than the choose him. He surpassed all our expectations.

A genuinely great guy that is extremely talented. If you don’t pick Matt for you wedding you have made the wrong decision!!
